Change4Children

An Exciting Mission Project for the Whole Church

Bringing Kids Together

Robert J. Weingartner
Executive Director
The Outreach Foundation of the Presbyterian Church

"I write this letter to commend to you a ministry of Alliance for Children Everywhere called Change 4 Children, a wonderful effort that raises awareness, prayers and financial support for the work with children in Zambia. We are very excited about the fruit that we have already seen Change 4 Children bear in PC (USA) congregations and in the lives of children in crisis."

Dick Kampa
Mission Elder
St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Tucson, AZ

"Change 4 Children has helped us achieve one of the church's objectives in missions, in that it involves so many in outreach to the poor and the neglected outside our country."

Dottie Crawford
Children's Ministry Director,
Glenkirk Presbyterian Church

"We here at Glenkirk are very excited about not only the chance of helping so many, but about the lesson that we are teaching our children about the responsibility and honor of being able to help others. The wonderful thing about this program is that we as a church have been able to, for the first time, focus on a mission project that every generation at the church can participate in. Together we're working as a body to be the missional church that God calls us to be! Thanks for the opportunity that you have given us to work together for God's great purpose in our lives!"

Changing Children's Lives, One by One

Together as a church family, we learned about the wonderful ways our denomination is bringing orphans into families and providing an education to children too poor to go to school. Together, as a church family, we collected coins in lovely handmade baskets and sent our support, prayers and love to our African family.

Change 4 Children delivers.

  • Helps Christians become more globally aware.
  • Offers a practical way to make a significant difference
  • Connects Americans with our Zambian neighbors
  • Provides regular updates with pictures and stories from Zambia

Katumba and KidEach family selects, as a gift from Africa, a beautiful basket handmade by village woman in Mongu, Zambia. Baskets are used for the family to collect change—pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters during the four months of the program.

  • Where babies die for lack of milk and medicine:
50 cents buys milk and medicine.
  • Where children may only eat once a day—if at all:
19 cents provides a nourishing meal.
  • Where more than half of the children can’t go to school:
5 cents a day sends a child to school.
