Hi! My name is Evina and I have two elder brothers and a twin brother named Johnny. We used to be triplets. We had another sister, her name was Evelyn, but she couldn’t get strong enough and she went to heaven. Now there are just two of us, so we are twins now. My mom didn’t have enough milk for all of us so we needed help.
The pastor at our church told my Mum about a community feeding program that Christian Alliance for Children in Zambia has and we went to their office to see if they would help us. We were accepted on the program and now once a month we go to a distribution center where they give us groundnuts and other food supplies. We get our weight taken and sometimes a nice lady prays for us. Sometimes they give us clothes, or a blanket. I like to go because sometimes they give us a sweet or a toy. Mummy always is happy on that day.
When we were real small, they gave us formula to help us grow. Then when we got bigger, we started getting groundnuts too. Mum says the nuts have protein, whatever that is. She said it will help us grow.
Both my brother and I weigh almost the same, but for some reason he can do a lot more than me. Sometimes, I’m not very hungry and mom says I should be hungry and I should eat more. My brother would probably weigh more than me but he never stops running all over the place. I can walk and sometimes I can even run, but don’t feel like it much.
If we didn’t have the help from the feeding program, we probably would be in heaven with Evelyn. Mom say’s those nice people saved our lives. I will have to thank them when I get bigger and learn all my words.
I will have my brother write next time.
Evina
