Students Waiting For Sponsors at Helen DeVos Christian School
Congratulations to five HDCS students who scored among the highest in the nation last year.  Their performance is even more amazing considering the fact that the children at HDCS are the very poor, many of them orphans who are overcoming tremendous odds.  They have grasped this chance to get an education and are making the most of it.  Below, read the stories of four other HDCS students who are awaiting sponsors.  If you are interested in sponsoring one or more of them, please follow the links below. Thanks to a generous donation, we have been able to accept these children into our school, however, we must find sponsors for them so that they can continue through high school.

My name is Ruth and I am 12 years old.  I am the last born of a family of three. I am at Helen DeVos Christian School and my favorite subjects are mathematics, creative writing and technology studies.  When I grow up, I want to become a designer because I want to help people who are in need of clothes.  I need a sponsor to say in school. My name is Richard. I am 14 years old. I live with my mother and 5 siblings. Our father died so we are alone. I am hoping for a sponsor so I can stay at Helen DeVos Christian School. My mother has a hard time. I like school a lot. My favorite subjects are history, science and English. I would like to be a scientist one day. Thank you for considering sponsoring me. Hello, my name is Mathews. I am 16 years old and am a new student at Helen DeVos Christian School. My mother is a hairdresser. She and my aunt pay my school fees. I have 3 sisters and 3 brothers. My best subjects are history & civics. When I grow up, I’d like to be a lawyer, so I can help people in my community. It would be a great help to my family, if you could find it in your heart to sponsor me. I have studied hard, even through the holidays!

My name is Henry and I’m 15. I live in Lusaka at Kanyama Compound with my Aunt & Uncle. My mother & father died and I have 2 brothers and sister.
