One of our teachers noticed a little boy who would eat only half of his porridge. The rest he carefully covered with an old plastic grocery bag and guarded it until class was dismissed.
“Why are you not eating?” his teacher asked. “Are you feeling sick?”
“No, teacher,” was the soft answer. “It is only that we have no food at home. My mother is sick. I want to bring her some food so she can get well.”
