When we began Alliance for Children ministry in 1969, my heart would break whenever I faced a child who was suffering. I remember the first time I held a baby who was too weak to cry; and the terrified eyes of a child who had been abandoned on a busy street corner; and the hopelessness in a mother’s heart knowing her son or daughter would be trapped in poverty because she could not afford shoes to send her child to school. I cried then, and I cry now. But the joy of bringing help to these same young lives drowns the sorrow completely and goes deep into the heart.
How grateful we are for those who volunteer, for those who give prayer support, for donors, and for co-laborers. Together with you, we have been a vehicle God has used to serve thousands of children from Arizona to Guatemala and Peru, and now Zambia. We are using the experience of the past four decades as a springboard for exceptional ministry so that in the years to come many more children and families will receive the help they so desperately need.
