When the twin brothers were born, both underweight, they were immediately put onto the Milk and Medicine program, but that was just the beginning of their journey.
During the months of their growth, their mother doted on them. Although she was poor, she made a good home for the three of them. And then the unthinkable happened. The mother fell ill and needed to be put into the hospital for an extended stay. With no close relatives to watch the boys, she delayed her medical care. Then one of our Milk and Medicine workers told her about our Bill and Bette Bryant Crisis Nursery. The mother was greatly relieved to find a loving place to leave her sons while she received desperately needed treatment. The boys quickly adjusted to the home, loved the Learning Center of Joy preschool and kept the ties that bind them as brothers.
Thankfully, the mother of our precious twin boys is recovering. When she returns to her home, we will be there for her until she can return to her job. Thank you, Bill and Bette Bryant Crisis Nursery for being there for these boys and for all of the other children that need crisis care, nutritious food, and love.
