About Virginia "Jennie" Woods, Founder and President, Alliance for Children Everywhere
Virginia "Jennie" Woods has spent her life working cross-denominationally within Church networks to care for orphans, outcast children and children in crisis. She is the President and Founder of Tucson, Arizona based Alliance for Children Everywhere (ACE) a 501 (c)(3) Christian nonprofit organization founded in 1969.
From her early years of providing emergency rescue and child care on Native American Reservations, to 25 years of service directing House of Samuel, a licensed Child Placement and Adoption agency, Jennie has recruited and trained Christians to open their hearts and homes to thousands of needy children on three continentsNorth America, Central and South America, and Africa. Entering the 21st Century, Jennie has assumed a role of catalyst and child welfare consultant to engage people, organizations and churches in the mandate to bring hope and help to orphans and children in crisis, principally in AIDS ravaged Africa.
Interventions she, along with indigenous Christians, have implemented include: crisis nurseries for children in emergency situations, a home for premature and high risk infants, primary education programs operated by community churches, as well as Bible Clubs, feeding programs and rural evangelistic outreaches.
"There is one institution on the earth today that has the resources, the expertise, the presence and the mandate to make an immediate and lasting difference in the lives of orphans and needy children. That institution, under the direction of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, is the Church. God created each child one by one. It is our responsibility, obligation and opportunity to reach them, one by one".
